Locality: Sheep Ranch Mine, Calaveras County, California USA

SUPER RARE - Mine closed in 1942!

The Sheep Ranch Mine is a silver and gold mine located in Calaveras county, California at an elevation of 2349 feet.

The Sheep Ranch Mine is considered the most productive gold mine of the East Gold Belt having produced in excess of $7,000,000 in native gold between its opening in the 1860s until final closure in 1942. Ore generally averaged 0.5-0.6 ounces per ton. The most prolific period in the mine's history was between 1877 and 1893 when over 400,000 tons of ore worth over $4,000,000 was produced. 

This is a 8mm thick slab with gold running all the way thorough meaning it can be cut into multiple thinner slabs to maximise material for cabbing/jewellery. 

Rich 22kt+ Gold quartz veins running that runs all the way throughout.

Can be used for cabbing multiple pieces of PHENOMENAL Jewels, or collected as a specimen.
